Distilled from the seed heads of Fennel (Foeniculum Vulgare) this summer. Harvesting the seed heads was pretty magical, as the plants were covered in Lady Bugs (I made sure not to bother them) and Bees were buzzing around my head (I made sure not to bother them either). This is the first hydrosol I made on my (then) new copper alembic using hydrodistillation. It has a strong licorice aroma.
You can use Fennel hydrosol in many recipes in the kitchen. You can also drink it diluted in water or mixed into a cocktail. My preferred uses are external:
Room Spray.
Spray and inhale. Extra nice when you are recovering from a cold.
Use as a face toner or mist. Suitable for irritated skin.
Mist all over the body after a day in the sun.
When not in use, store your hydrosols in a cool dark place. A refrigerator is ideal! Our aim is to offer the most untouched, unadulterated plant extracts, that’s why Hildegard’s hydrosols are preservative-free. Our unpreserved hydrosols come with the recommendation that they must be used in 6 months’ time after opening (contact with air).
